The 5th meeting of the Thomas F. Dodson Surgical History Society will take place on Monday, March 15th @ 6:30pm via Zoom. The mission of the Society is to foster interest and collaboration centered on the rich, meaningful, and colorful history of our field.
The topics to be discussed are:
- Dr. Joe Sharma: Endocrine Disease in Classical Art
- Dr. Brendan Lovasik: Presidents under the Knife: Surgical Histories of the U.S. Heads of State
Please contact Dr. Lovasik for Zoom link to attend.
The objectives of the TFD Society are twofold:
- To provide a forum to discuss notable surgical historical figures and events. At present, these will occur as quarterly meetings, outside of the hospital, with surgical history topic presentations led by both residents and faculty members.
- To stimulate and facilitate research and academic pursuits in the field of surgical history, and organize, promote, and expand the study of surgical history among Emory surgical trainees and faculty.
